Batman Facts

Batman is a fictional cartoon character that was created in Bob Kane and Bill Finger, first appearing in DC Comics' Detective Comics #27 in May, 1939. Batman was originally named 'the Bat-Man'. Batman, like most superheroes, has a secret identity. His is Bruce Wayne - an American philanthropist, billionaire, and lady's man, who owns Wayne Enterprises and lives in Gotham City. He witnessed his parents being murdered when he was only a child, and as a result he swore to get revenge on the criminals while taking an oath of maintaining a sense of justice. He trains to become Batman, mentally and physically, and with the help of his butler Alfred, his sidekick Robin, and the police commissioner Jim Gordon, pursues criminals and brings many to justice.
